Summer is usually one of the most anticipated holidays of the year especially for families and people who enjoy traveling either within or outside their home country as this is a time for them to relax, take a break from their hectic jobs, visit other countries, meet new people and many more.
In this post, I will be discussing on of my favorite country to visit for the summer and i am referring to the United Kingdom (or London as people call it). I have visited the U.K a lot of times and I never get tired of visiting the U.K and the tourist locations in the U.K still attract me all the time and any time I visit and for this reason I would be posting my top 5 tourist attractions in the U.K.
- BUCKINGHAM PALACE
So lets start with the Buckingham Palace, is the London residence and administrative headquarters of the monarch of the United Kingdom. Located in the City of Westminster, the palace is often at the center of state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focal point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and mourning.

Majority of the tourists who go visiting to London either on vacation or for other reasons always visit the Buckingham palace and one of the major reasons tourist go to the Buckingham Palace is mostly to see the changing of guards ceremony.
The changing of guards happens at a specific time and only during summers and thus you need to be there in time to watch the change of guards, although alot of people start getting there early in order to get a place closest to the gates so that they can get a better view of the ceremony as it happens. The guards appear at the specific time from across the street and a bunch of them march towards the palace while the band plays. The area gets pretty crowded and so its advisable to get there much earlier before time. The actual ceremony of the change of guards though takes place within the palace grounds, its a long event and it takes quite some time.
Tourists though can hang out in the surrounding area much after the ceremony.
2). LONDON EYE
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel, is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over
As a tourist to be able to get a ride on the London you would be required to pay so as to be able to get a ride and it usually cost around £20 upward and the ride on the London eye takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour and when you get to the top you get an amazing view of specific places in London and trust me it is breath taking and amazing.
At night, the London eye displays an amazing array of colors and could be sighted from afar
3)BIG BEN
Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London and is usually extended to refer to both the clock and the clock tower.
The Houses of Parliament and Elizabeth Tower, commonly called Big Ben, are among London’s most iconic landmarks and must-see London attractions. Technically, Big Ben is the name given to the massive bell inside the clock tower, which weighs more than 13 tons (13,760 kg).
4) TOWER OF LONDON
The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London
Throughout its history, the Tower of London has served many purposes, including royal residence, barracks, armory, prison and museum. The Tower of London is a 900-year-old castle and fortress in central London that is notable for housing the crown jewels and for holding many famous and infamous prisoners.
In my opinion the tower of London is a tourist attraction because of its history and I feel tourist should make a visit to the tower of London before the end of their visit or vacation.
5) THE BRITISH MUSEUM
Personally I have not been to the British museum but its a place I am definitely going to visit on my next trip to London.
The British Museum, located in the Bloomsbury area of London, United Kingdom, is a public institution dedicated to human history, art and culture
– In addition, the London Tower Bridge is another fascinating place for tourist to visit and this is because then ever there is a ship or a ferry passing by the bridge rises up at the middle where cars pass and this is to grant easy passage to the ship or ferry passing by with the aid of the water on which the bridge is built.
So here are my top favorite tourist attractions in London and I would recommend these tourist locations for tourist who are making a trip to the U.K either for summer vacation or for whatever purpose to which they are in the U.K for.
Thank you…
